Safe Risk™ Scenarios and Surprise Attacks™

Safe Risk™ Scenarios

The following list of scenarios is intentionally left vague. Once the type (i.e., relative positioning) of attack is established, the instructor works with the participants to develop and analyze the scenario. For instance, if the scenario focuses on an attack from the front, the attack can be a choke, push, grab, etc. The victim could be walking, standing, talking on the phone, etc. The attacker could be running at the victim, walking up to the victim, standing in front of the victim, etc. All this can develop with the participants' intrigue in mind.

You, the participant, help develop the scenario to best suite your practical application(s).

Furthermore, participants tend to learn much more effectively when they are actively engaged, and when they help develop the real-world scenarios. Safe Risk™ encourages participants to ask "What if...?" as a method of learning how to "think on your feet".

Scenarios

Attacked from the front
Attacked from behind
Attacked from the side
Attacked while on the ground
Attacked while seated
Attacked while lying down

The participants and the instructor work together to develop the details of each scenario.

Surprise Attacks™

Surprise Attacks™ is an activity in which participants randomly select other participants (e.g., drawing names from a hat), and their objective is to attack (using one of the discussed attacks) the other participants without notice. The "victim" is intended to respond with practical self defense techniques covered during the class. This activity is highly enjoyed by students, as it affirms their sense of preparedness.
